Happy Birthday Lincoln!

This day is such a blessing for our family. Not only was our son born on this day, 2 years ago, but our prayers were answered as well. God entrusted this sweet baby into our lives and we are forever thankful. This past year has been amazing! We have watched our baby grow into a toddler - and a spunky one at that!! He is such a terrific little man. I can't tell you how proud we are of him and all of his accomplishments this past year. I know I have said this before, but, it is remarkable to watch him learn and become himself. He is so intelligent! I may be biased but I don't have many children his age to compare him to...he pretty much knows as much as a 3 year old and he has only just turned 2.... He is our little sponge! I look forward to all of the fun this year! He is chalked full of surprises! We are enrolling him into swim classes this summer...watch him take off and do laps once we set him into the pool!!! Just kidding! Wouldn't that be hilarious, though?!?!? On a serious note~ We often think of Lincoln's birth mother and today, especially, she is on our minds. We are very grateful for her love and commitment to push through, probably one of the toughest times of her life, and move forward with her adoption plan. Had it not been for her strength and courage, Lincoln might not be with us. He is our blessing, our dream come true....

We imagine you kissed
his sweet face so round

And gently placed him with the agency,
for him to be found

We imagine your heartache
your pain and your tears

We wish we could show you

and soften your fears

We’d show you a boy

with hope in his eyes

A boy who loves stories
and sweet lullabies

A boy who laughs freely

and loves to play
A boy who smiles sweetly

and dances all day

A boy with a future
So funny and smart

A boy who loves music

and reading and art

A boy who we hope

has your courage one day

We know it took courage

to love and walk away

His beautiful smile

We wish you could see

He looks like you
,
I'm sure you'd agree

So, imagine his laughter
Imagine his touch

We wish we could show you

he’s loved so much

Remember his face

Remember that kiss
And when you cry,

remember this

Beyond your tears

Beyond your pain

Sometimes the sun
shines
through the rain

And we know that he’ll ask us

about you one day

We’ll tell him you loved him
and wished he could stay

We’ll help him remember
and imagine you, too
when he starts to wonder

and dream about you

We’ll look at the moon

We’ll give him a kiss

and when he cries,

We’ll tell him this

Beyond your tears
Beyond your pain
Sometimes the sun
shines
through the rain

Look at his face! He was so proud of his new bike!
Ella, Andrew, and Lincoln all took a ride on this VERY hot humid day...eck!

Lincoln posed all by himself for this picture with Shelby. He grabbed her tightly and didn't let go...seriously, I had to pry his arms off of her! Then on the next picture I asked his to say "cheese". He is such a funny boy!

Lincoln insisted on wearing Ella's sun hat... he just loves accessories! He also loves his Danny dog! Our friends lab is such a cuddle dog... Lincoln really likes to lay all over him or try to sit on him!
