...first night home with little man...

Last night went quite well considering we have a newbie and a toddler with a cold. Lincoln went to sleep with little fuss and then we followed shortly after with Everett. Linc woke up at around 2:30ish, after Everett finished eating his 1st bottle of the night, wanting someone to lay with him so, I volunteered. Then, Philip and I changed places after awhile because it was obvious that Linc was not interested in sleeping yet. I got a bit of sleep until Ev woke up at 4:30 for his second feeding and diaper change. He gulped down a few ounces and then we were able to sleep until 7:30 (next feeding) Philip and Lincoln woke up when we did and now here we sit watching - what else - Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas...Some things never change! :)
I am doing so good and my pain is very minimal. Getting up and walking as soon as possible after surgery helped. I must say - this experience has gone better than I ever expected it would. Today we are, of course, planning on taking it easy and resting as much as we can...in the mean time I wanted to post a few more pictures of our little man. We will be snapping away with the camera today as well...I really want to get a picture of the 2 boys together but so far Lincoln is not too interested in having his picture taken with Everett. He is a little apprehensive towards him. I don't want to pressure him - We are just giving Linc his space and in time he will come around...I am sure that he must be having a lot of mixed feelings towards all of the changes going on around him. All in all, though, life is better than ever! We are loving our new family of four. To say that we feel blessed is a true understatement...words cannot express the amount of love that we have for our new son. He is definitely a keeper! :)

Everett has taken to this soothie...he loves it!

Here is Lincoln's first meeting with little brother...he was giving him kisses.

Papa made sure to pack his cars. He had fun playing and I had fun watching...I sure missed him.

proud big brother, Lincoln.

this is the norm for now - he seems to eat and sleep, eat and sleep. (while pooping in between!)

cuddling with Mama.

Aunt April meeting Everett for the first time.

Everett is getting loads of loving from the Grandparents and Aunt April

Mackenzie and Everett...so sweet!!

Mama and Ev (don't mind the swelling - I was so puffy!)

Our perfect baby. He is just precious.

Papa and his "lil guy"

I love this picture. It seems to say,"Yea, we have a new baby and we are feeling the lack of sleep!!" They look quite sleep deprived!

Lincoln was so glad to have Mama home.

He and Papa were dancing...

He was SO happy to have us both home - together. I think me being at the hospital was too odd for him.

He has a new favorite chip...baked lays!

Everett in his new swaddle blanket. He is most comfortable and content when he is swaddled.

Everett has arrived!!

We are now the proud parents to TWO boys! Everett Rhys Dean came into the world screaming for all to hear...it was a beautiful sound. He is such a gorgeous baby! He has his Papa's eyes and his Mama's nose...I actually think that he is the perfect blend of us. He is a great sleeper and an even better eater. He can wolf down a bottle - that's for sure!
I will post more about the delivery at another time. For now, I just wanted to let everyone know that he is here and we are on cloud 9! He was delivered by cesarean section on February 9th and weighed in at 8lbs 9oz. and was 20"long. I am doing really well and expect to be released from the hospital either Wednesday or Thursday...let's hope for Wednesday! Lincoln is such a proud big brother and is being a great helper. He is already showing signs of protectiveness towards Everett. It is such a sweet sight to see the two of them together...I just love the little kisses that Lincoln gives to Everett. He is so gentle and caring with his baby brother. Enjoy the few pictures below and I will post more at another time...probably when I get home and settled in!

HAPPY FAMILY DAY!

Two years ago - on this day- Lincoln was placed in our arms forever. I vividly remember that day and consider it to be one of the happiest and most memorable days of our lives. Philip and I are so blessed to have such an amazing son...he truly is a miracle. We love him so much and are so grateful to be able to be parents to such a remarkable boy.

Fun with Papa and Lincoln's newest ride!!

Well, Philip has been checking out remote control cars ever since we went to RideMakerZ with Lincoln last week. He has been glued to the laptop every night checking out these things. So, he came home a few days back with this huge smile on his face. It was like a child in the candy store...he was as giddy as I usually am when it comes to buying cloth diapers (my addiction). He says, "I bought Lincoln a new car!" Of course, that really means that Papa got a new toy. So, he continues to show us this amazing new, huge, fast remote control car. Lincoln was beyond excited and probably just as geeked about it as his papa! Then Philip said to me,"Okay since we got a new toy you can go ahead and buy those new diapers that you were wanting." I just smiled and let him know that I had already gotten them that morning...I couldn't let that great deal just slip away!
So, last night when Papa came home from work we all bundled up for the chilly Michigan weather and headed outside to play with the new car. It was quite fun. Lincoln had a blast with it and so did his Papa! I was busy snapping away taking pictures. We got cold after awhile and decided to come in and let me tell you - we pretty much had to drag in Lincoln because he didn't want to come in! He was too involved with the new car to even be bothered with the freezing cold! I am so glad that he likes this car so much. Now he and Papa have a new hobby and I am sure that Papa is looking forward to him and Lincoln modding their new car and buying cool accessories for it...boys and their toys...so silly!

Lincoln and his newest remote control car...isn't it big?!

He loved watching Papa make it go fast up and down the street.

He is in awe over how far away it is...

The happy Papa and his toy car!

Linc and his car getting acquainted. At times he is loving it and then when it is coming full force at him he is shockingly freaked out!

He is safe up in the top step as he observes.

My handsome bundled up boy.

I love this guy!

I call this his model pose...he is a natural!

...running as the car chases after him...his laughter was so contagious!

Lincoln and Papa with their new ride! I can see that there is going to be loads of fun in the future with the two of them and their car.

Happy Birthday Mom - Grammy Kelly!!

Well, it is the simple things that make us smile....my mom didn't want anything for her birthday except to celebrate with her family. Of course, she did want a delicious cake! (which she got because she (of course) made it herself. I knew, though, exactly what to get her and I have known for quite some time. She had borrowed my Rowenta iron a few months back and I just finally pried it away from her. Her iron broke a while back and she is a freak when it comes to ironing and wrinkles! She had yet to replace hers because she had been holding mine hostage forever! So, this week Lincoln and I went out and bought Grammy her own Rowenta and I honestly thought she was going to cry when she opened it! She was SO excited! I find it quite humerus at present time with my family. On my 19th birthday my parents bought me my first iron...yes, kind-of ironic. I was just as happy and actually did cry - I know, I am a corny nerd but I take after my mom and am a nut when it comes to wrinkles...another birthday I got my Wet Jet Swiffer...and another one I got my first nice vacuum....see where this is going? We love to get each other cleaning stuff...and stuff for the home. Weird - I know. Anyhow, I think that Grammy enjoyed her present. Now, I can iron in peace and not have to worry that it will be "missing" the next time I need it!

Happy Birthday, Mama! We Love You!! (Her actual birthday is Feb 8th. I will be in labor that evening getting ready to bring her 3rd grandson into the world!!)

Here is princess Shelby. She still is leary of CoCo and doesn't like to go over to Grammy's house as much as she used to. I think she thinks that she has been replaced...poor girl.

Here is CoCo. She has grown so much and is now bigger than Shelby.

Here are all of the doggies eating a special dinner for Grammy's birthday. (CoCo, Cody, and Shelby)
