36 week checkup

Well, I had my 36 week check-up. All went well and Everett is doing good. His heartbeat is always nice and strong and quite reassuring. No change since last week. I am still measuring a week larger and I actually lost some weight! It is probably from all of the sickness, though. I still can't believe my luck - morning sickness for ALL 9 months! Yuck! The other night was the worst. I was up from 11pm until close to 3am getting sick...I moved out to the sofa in the living room so that Philip could get some shut-eye. I guess that morning sickness for 9 months just happens to some people and I am one of them. Thankfully, I have only a few more weeks of this and then I can blame my lack of sleep and exhaustion on little Everett...I don't think that there will be much complaining from me though! I am looking forward to his arrival - as is everyone :)
Lincoln has been doing good and he has been talking so much lately...in sentences. He is so polite, too. He has been saying stuff like, "Mama, can I have an orange, please?" or "Mama, can I watch Mickey Mouse, please?" It is so sweet. I am very pleased with his manners. He makes me so proud. Also, he has begun to clean up toys all by himself. He will see his toys scattered all over the place and he will say, "Mama, big mess, I'll get it." Or sometimes, like just a second ago, I will stumble over a car or his little people and I will say 'ouch' and Lincoln will come over to pick up the toy and he will say, "Sorry Mama".
Lincoln hit a huge milestone - in my eyes - this week. He is 2 and a half years old and he is finally bathing in the bath tub! Yes...he had still been bathing in the kitchen sink! He would throw a HUGE screaming fit whenever I tried to put him in the bathtub. You'd think he was being tortured. So, for Christmas, Lincoln got a bunch of bath toys and yesterday I dumped all of them into the tub and plopped him in there. He was not too happy about it at first but then he was very excited. He was coloring on the walls with the bath crayons and erasing it all with the ducky sponge. Each time he'd use the duck he'd say,"Quack,Quack" but it sounds like "Crap, Crap"! It was too funny. Then he was a little perturbed when I had to wash him and his hair...I was interrupting his playtime...geesh! He loved it and cried forever when I took him out...poor guy. I am one happy mama now that he is finally a bathtub boy!
Last night we went over to see the kids that I used to watch. Lincoln was SO excited to see them and they were even more happy to see us! It was pure chaos but it was a good kind of chaos - if that makes sense. We visited and exchanged belated Christmas presents. It was nice to see them again. It was really hard on Lincoln when we left. He cried for a long time, almost until we got home, because he wanted to stay and play with Jackson. He had lots of fun with them and really likes his Little People race track that they gave him...he is busily playing with it now as I type. He likes it but says that it is, "Too Loud". He has a thing about his toys being loud...I think he gets it from us. Oops. *Okay, speaking of loudness, this is too funny! Lincoln just came out of our bedroom with Papa's earplugs in his ears!* How funny is that?! I asked why he had them and he said, "It's too loud!" Now, he has never seen Papa put these in his ears (Philip uses them at night because I keep him up tossing and turning and he says that I breathe like darth vader) However, Linc has seen Houie, Douie, and Louie use them in his 'Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas' movie.
Other than baking a baby and trying to keep up with Lincoln, nothing is new in our neck of the woods. I have been busy shopping for last minute things that we need before Everett arrives. Our neighbor came by earlier today with a beautiful blanket that she made for Everett. It is so
nice! She and her husband are such sweet people and we are very fortunate to have them as neighbors.
Well, I have a few pictures to post. My next appt. is on Tuesday and I am sure that nothing will change - which is a good thing. I always look forward to hearing that nothing has changed and that all is well...I am fortunate to have good blood pressure and no serious problems that need to be tracked and such.
Here is Lincoln with one of his favorite snacks - oranges!
