.March 13th.
Lincoln has grown into such a remarkable boy.
He has the cutest little wave. He'll give you an adorable shrug and then wave his little hand and smile so sweet...all the while chanting, "hello, hello"
He is our little cuddle boy. We wake up every morning and cuddle and watch cartoons while eating his favorite snack, Goldfish crackers. He will not leave his room in the mornings without his 2 blankets (we call them pompees) and his 2 rabbits. They are his best-friends, those rabbits.
His pompees are a daily part of his life...he must have one with him at all times.(preferably two of them) There is this particular thing that he does. He takes one of the corners and sucks on it and takes another one and gently rubs his hand and face with it...he likes the ticklish feeling, I think. He has done this since day one.
He is a little chatterbox, now. He knows so many words...it is amazing to hear his beautiful voice. Currently, his favorite word is "Mom" it is more of a question, though.
He'll say, "Mom?" then he'll babble and I will answer him and he'll start over again, "Mom?".....
Lincoln's 1st phrase was "I love you". What a day that was.
He LOVES reading. Currently his top book choice is "100 first words".
Every morning Lincoln and I wave to Papa, from the window, as he leaves for work. Through out the day he asks where Papa is and says, "Papa, Bye-Bye" Such a sweetheart...he loves his Papa so much.
He has a love-hate relationship with his dog. He will either smother her with kisses or chase her around and torment her.
I find myself staring at him all the time. He is the most gorgeous child.
He loves to offer people his belongings...if you accept them from him then he will never let you be...he'll shower you with everything he owns.
If he hears music, he turns into a dancing machine! Not only does he boogie down, he also wants us to pick him up and dance around the room with him. It is quite the workout.
Lincoln likes to pick up dust bunnies, fuzz, lint, and anything else he can find on the floor. He will bring it to me so I can throw it away and he'll say, "kah-kah".
Every night before bedtime we sing songs. He demands his favorite song, "Little Drummer Boy" EVERY TIME. He sings "babababam" over and over until we sing it to him.
When Lincoln wakes up, he uses his crib as a trampoline...He is a jumping fanatic! He gets some serious air, too.
He loves to watch Veggietales. Loves, Loves, Loves it!
He has an awesome pitching arm. I have never seen a child throw so well.
I am pleased to say that Lincoln has great eating habits! He will choose a fruit or vegetable over any candy or sweet...anytime! His favorite food as of now is cottage cheese. He also loves yogurt and bananas.
After over a year, now, Lincoln has finally learned to use a (straw-free) sippy cup. He could never figure out how to tilt his head back to get his beverage...he'd always bring it to us to help him. Now he can retire his straw-sippys for awhile.
If something looks warm or has been in the microwave or oven recently, he won't eat it. I pretty much have to beg him to eat it and all the while I am promising him that it is not hot. He makes these quirky looks and smirks and points at the food saying, "hot-hot" Once he tastes it, he usually cleans the bowl while saying, "Mmmmmm!"
He LOVES to watch car races or shows with his Papa. He gets giddy and points at the TV, "Whoa! Wow! Vroom!" Papa loves spending time with his little man.
Independence is Lincoln's middle name! Okay, not really. However, he likes (or attempts) to do everything on his own. He is learning through trial and error and when all else fails - Mama and Papa come to the rescue!
He has developed a new skill. Temper-tantrums! He throws himself down to the floor, kicks his feet, and forces out (or tries to force out) his tears...he'll squint like crazy and pout until we cave into his demands. Luckily, he turns off the waterworks just as quickly as they turned on.
He loves to climb. He'll climb on anything! Couches, chairs, train tables, stairs, beds, boxes, anything that he comes across. He is so proud of himself afterwards!
He is not even 2 yrs old yet and he already has quite an eye for fashion! He loves to wear his bracelets, and his hats (preferable his blue beanie hat), he likes to wear 2 different shoes at once (yeah, that's kinda funny!), he also likes to tote around a pink purse full of trinkets.
Our son is an amazing person. I could go on and on about all of his accomplishments. We are so proud of him!
Thank you, Eloise.
You are truly a wonderful soul.
I pray for guardian angels to guide you and ease your way.
I know you will always feel our saviors love
because of the sacrifice you made that day...
I hope you will find comfort in knowing
he is deeply loved and cherished, too.
He will never want for anything
We owe his life to you.
Happy Birthday.
